Carter Logistics is looking for an energetic Sales and Marketing professional to join our growing team. The ideal candidate would be a self-starter and proactively work to develop and qualify leads into potential long-standing clients for the Carter team.  The role will be divided into 50% inside sales (cold calling) and 50% working on strategic marketing initiatives.

 Position Details:

  • Make initial contact with strategically chosen businesses
  • Build rapport with potential customers by identifying opportunities that align with Carter’s service offerings
  • Assist with development of various clients’ lead generation campaigns
  • Generate leads using LinkedIn, emails, and other tools
  • Assist Sales Department with customer presentations and promotional materials
  • Write compelling and interesting social media posts and blog articles

Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and, Abilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field. Will consider candidates with 3+ years of supply chain logistics experience in sales, marketing, or customer service in lieu of a degree
  • 2+ years of inside sales (lead generation) or marketing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization and with business associates
  • Self-Motivated with a drive to meet and exceed goals and objectives
  • Strong interpersonal skills – quickly establish rapport and create an atmosphere of trust in all relationships
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio
  • Excellent customer service attitude with a sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Work at a fast pace to meet very high standards
  • Time management: work effectively under tight time constraints and challenging conditions

Position Overview

The Carter Express team is growing and we are looking for a passionate positive person to join our Operation Team in Laredo, Texas. If you are a detailed oriented, precise, and up beat person we want you! The Trailer Controller will work from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm going from Monday – Friday. This is far from your normal office position. You will literally play a key role in the success of our operation. We are trusting you with approximately half a million dollars of our assets! This environment is fast paced. There is always constant communication from everyone in the organization making sure the complete team gets the job done.

 

Performance Objectives

  • Maintain integrity of inventory control logs
  • Responsible for updating the Interchange Spread Sheet (excel)
  • Scan updated interchanges to HQ “Anderson, IN”
  • Effectively manage time between answering emails and keeping up with Assigned duties from the Ops Manager
  • Prepare yard check and create Northbound report for daily crossings
  • Empty out Mexican pros every day
  • Work one full calendar week in a calendar month with Operation Team to ensure monthly goals are met
  • Assist local dispatches with any issues that may arise concerning our trailers.
