If you answered yes to these all questions, you are one step closer to joining our Carter Family. The Facilities Maintenance Associate position is a 7am -4pm Monday – Friday position. However, you must be willing to be on call for emergencies or other business needs. Being consistently on time for work is a critical factor for your employment in this role.  The position also requires the ability and knowledge to safely use a wide range of tools and equipment to complete all tasks deemed necessary. These tasks can include minor to heavy lifting ranging from 5 – 50 pounds. All tasks involving heavier equipment must be used with proper lift equipment provided by Carter.

Performance Objectives

  • Troubleshoot equipment to get to the root cause of an issue to provide proper solutions in fixing the problem
  • Perform routine maintenance tests and complete minor repairs on the facility to ensure long lasting safety for our employees
  • Effectively communicate across all departments and maintain a positive attitude with co-workers
  • Make quick precise decisions that allow you to complete all tasks in a timely safe manner
  • Use common logic to assess strengths and weaknesses of all solutions, conclusion to solve a problem
  • Complete installations, repositioning’s, yard work, and all servicing to Carter’s equipment and assets.
  • Read technical information needed to perform maintenance or repairs
  • Sample tasks are but not limited to snow removal, mowing, building maintenance, painting, and carpentry

Position Overview

The Carter Express team is growing and we are looking for a passionate positive person to join our Operation Team in Laredo, Texas. If you are a detailed oriented, precise, and up beat person we want you! The Trailer Controller will work from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm going from Monday – Friday. This is far from your normal office position. You will literally play a key role in the success of our operation. We are trusting you with approximately half a million dollars of our assets! This environment is fast paced. There is always constant communication from everyone in the organization making sure the complete team gets the job done.

 

Performance Objectives

  • Maintain integrity of inventory control logs
  • Responsible for updating the Interchange Spread Sheet (excel)
  • Scan updated interchanges to HQ “Anderson, IN”
  • Effectively manage time between answering emails and keeping up with Assigned duties from the Ops Manager
  • Prepare yard check and create Northbound report for daily crossings
  • Empty out Mexican pros every day
  • Work one full calendar week in a calendar month with Operation Team to ensure monthly goals are met
