Carter Express Driver Receives Master Truck Driver Award

Muriel Summerville strolled into our Corporate Office today thinking he had an appointment with our Safety Department. Unbeknownst to him, he was being honored with a pretigious award that less than 2% of the nation’s truck drivers are qualified to receive … The Master Truck Driver Award.

The Master Truck Driver program recognizes our industry’s top drivers who have compiled a career record of excellence through professionalism and service. To be certified, a nominated driver must have either one million accident-free miles or ten years of accident-free driving, be violation free for the past three years, and have a record of educational or community service activities.

Muriel, a 41 year veteran truck driver – 21 of those years with Carter, has driven 2,688,926 accident and violation free miles; the irony that Muriel thought he had an appointment with our Safety Department only added to his surprise.

Today, we celebrate this brother, father, grandfather, and outstanding coworker, who is described as having a spirit that can change the energy in any room, for his accomplishments. Muriel, you are an example to all and have truly mastered your craft.  Congratulations!
